From June 6–8, 2025 the Virginia Beach Oceanfront was transformed into a high-energy beach soccer arena as the 31st Annual North American Sand Soccer Championships (NASSC) took over the coast! With over 100,000 fans flooding the shoreline over three thrilling days, spectators witnessed non-stop action, international flair, and electrifying beach soccer energy all weekend long.

With nearly 800 teams from 15 U.S. states and 5 countries, NASSC remains one of the largest and most exhilarating beach soccer tournaments on the planet, showcasing high-stakes matchups for every age group—from Under-8 to Over-40. All eyes were on the U.S. Open Division, where men and women teams from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, and South America faced off for cash prizes and the coveted title of U.S. Open Champion.

Medical Center Radiologists (MCR) was the official title sponsor of the Tidewater Captains Beach Soccer Club, a local professional fixture in the U.S. Open since 2008. The Captains are co-managed by David Haas, a former player and current MCR Physician Assistant.

Thanks to the generous support of MCR Interventional Radiologists Dr. Harut Gyurjyan, Dr. Syed Mobeen Reza, Dr. Shashidhara Murthy, Dr. Erik Yannone, and MCR Diagnostic Radiologist Dr. Mark Notley, the Captains made big moves in 2025 – funding three new youth teams and igniting the future of beach soccer right here in the Hampton Roads community!
