I can’t explain how I felt going into my diagnosis and surgery to fix my issue and what Dr. Lustig had done, not only with my procedure that was a huge success, but he made me feel relaxed and confident. I highly recommend Dr. Lustig for UAE procedure. His skill and expertise provided so much relief in the symptoms I had and the journey is just beginning for me to feel comfortable in my own body. Before the procedure, he answered all my questions so I could make an informed decision. Although he regularly does these procedures, he was not slack and went straight to business in the operating room. I thought it was a plus that I could choose the music I wanted to hear. The fact is some music is distracting so I guess my choice didn’t run him out. As a bonus, his medical team is amazingly professional and supportive. Maybe this is why he is great at what he does. Big props to Dr. Lustig. So happy you were in my path to healing. May God continue to bless your hands.
I wish all my medical procedures and interactions were as pleasant as my experience with Dr Lustig and his staff. My procedure was a prostate artery embolization for symptoms of a rather large prostate. Every encounter with the department, whether by phone or in person was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The educational video available online before and at the time of the consult was most helpful and Dr. Lustig explained the process and procedure in details that were very understandable. The procedure was a breeze with nothing to fear or be anxious about. It was painless and all the personnel were most attentive to my comfort before, during and after the procedure itself. I was informed of what I would face once I got home and for the recovery period. I must say that there was some discomfort as expected but not enough to require the use of anything more than Tylenol. There was a followup phone call to check on me but there was nothing to report other than the expected symptoms. Overall, the symptoms were primarily the sense of urgency to urinate that lasted for about 3 days. For me, that was a small inconvenience that was well worth the benefits of the procedure. I am most pleased to report that after 3 months, my prostate size is reduced by 35% and my PSA fell to 1. My symptoms have reduced such that I no longer feel like an old guy with BPH who had to factor that in to daily life. I am most thankful that I had this treatment option and for the skill and professionalism of Dr Lustig and his staff at Sentara Norfolk General.
The professionals at Sentara General Hospital’s Interventional Radiology department were incredibly helpful and kind. I received thorough explanations during each visit, and my questions were always answered with patience and respect. I am so happy I found them.
Cannot say enough about the results of the PAE performed by the doctors at the Medical Center Radiologists. My quality of life has put me back at what it was at least 30 years ago. Saw results in about a week and very little uncomfortable pain the 1st 24 hours. Would recommend any one with prostate problems to look into this procedure.
Dr. Lustig and his staff were tremendous prior to the surgery, during the surgery and post op visit. I highly recommend Dr. Lustig for the PAE surgery.

The entire staff was friendly, courteous and informative. Dr. Susan McKenzie displayed excellent people skills during my procedure. Follow up instructions were concise and clear. The staff member who called me with the biopsy results was upbeat and friendly along with being informative regarding future mammogram screenings.

Dr. Lustig and Team were friendly, professional and extremely thorough – from my office consult to prep and post surgery everything went great. I was given his name by an urology specialist and told to consider setting up a consultation to discuss a Prostatic Artery Embolization procedure to address my enlarged prostate. I was immediately impressed with his knowledge and confidence with the success rate of the PAE I immediately scheduled the procedure. Everything went as discussed and the end result was life changing. My quality of life has increased significantly and I feel like a new person. This procedure also brought to light another issue which I was able to address with great results. 5 stars are not enough to rate Dr. Lustig and his Team!

The experience with Dr. Lustig’s office was exceptional. Mason who schedules patients and handles the front desk is attentive and helpful. All of the office staff are personable and professional. Dr. Lusting provided a very private and informative consultation which allowed me to make an informed decision regarding embolization for my prostate. The procedure went well, my symptoms were reduced and my three month postoperative appointment revealed a fifty percent reduction in the size of my prostate. I could not be more pleased!
The PAE was the best and most professional procedure I have had for at least the last 30 years. Dr. Lustig took the time to fully explain the procedure, answer my questions and fully set my expectations. The process and results exceeded my expectations and have allowed an improvement in my overall quality of life!
This procedure after 30 days took me off all medication related to the prostate. I feel like I did in my early 20s. Went from 5x a night to 1x every so often. It’s like a miracle procedure. I normally don’t do surveys but this is something I wanted to recommend.

As a living organ donor, part of the screening process was to have a CAT scan of my kidneys. When the report arrived back at the transplant center, the transplant team, especially the surgeon, was extremely impressed with the dictation. He said it was the most detailed report that he had ever seen in his career. It was read by an Medical Center Radiologist.
As a retired Nuclear Medicine Technologist, I have also had the pleasure of working with many Medical Center Radiologists over the span of my 30 year career. During that time, I developed a great since of respect and admiration for what each of them do on a daily basis. And even at the busiest of times, they were always professional, helpful and took the time to make me feel appreciated.
